Red Dog Bakery

At the Red Dog Bakery we are passionate about bringing great bread to North Devon.

We produce our bread in small batches so you can be sure the loaf you choose has been made with care.

The majority of our breads are raised by one of our four sourdough starters. We know that the taste and texture make for a much better eating experience.

To develop a depth of character and flavour the bread is slowly fermented for up to 72 hours before we shape the loaves by hand and carefully bake them.

We are committed to the standards for Real Bread set by the Real Bread Campaign so Real Bread Campaignyou can be sure that you will be eating bread that tastes great and is good for you. Always look for the Real Bread Loaf Mark.

“Our bread won't change your life but it may change your loaf !”

You can find us at Farmers markets and Food festivals in Devon & Cornwall, locate us by using the Real Bread Finder at realbreadcampaign.org.

Bread Making Courses

Bread for Beginners
This course is designed to introduce beginners to home bread making. It is a one day course which will provide the student with the skills necessary to produce tasty and attractive real bread, whilst dispelling all of the myths surrounding traditional bread making. Kneading, proving, shaping and baking will soon become second nature to you. We will discuss how bread works and how to produce a great loaf time after time.
Students will produce three standard doughs and produce bread products from each, going home with a box of bread and we hope, lots of confidence.

Will definitely do another one" - Many thanks Chris Porter
