Red Dog Bakery

At the Red Dog Bakery we are passionate about bringing great bread to North Devon.

Using Stone ground Organic flour, sourced in the South West whenever possible, we use a slow fermentation process to ensure that our bread has the best taste and texture.

We are proud supporters of the Real Bread Real Bread CampaignCampaign and to display the 'Real Bread Loaf Mark'. Our bread won't change your life but it may change your loaf !

You can find us at Farmers markets and Food festivals in Devon & Cornwall (click here), or locate us by using the Real Bread Finder at realbreadcampaign.org.

Testimonials
Feedback from 'Erica' on the 21st August 2013
who attended our Italian Bread Class:

"We cannot tell you how much we enjoyed the bread course and I can't believe how quickly the day went. The bread is amazing and our Norwegian guests were blown away last night when they tucked into the Como loaf - I had to throw together a last minute supper for them - cheese, cold ham, salad and the Como bread - that loaf made it into a feast.

I shall be in touch as I would like to do another course. I am thinking of abandoning the bread maker and having a baking day, then freezing the bread. Your course has given me the confidence to have a go!"

"May I just say a HUGE thank you for Saturday!! I had a really fabulous time!! The company was great, the lunch was wonderful (can I have the recipe for the soup please Sally!!) and the teaching marvelous!! Am seriously into sour dough now!! I wish I could have taken a picture of my childrens and husbands faces when they saw all the bread I came home with!! We ate one of the fig breads that evening with the kids as we sat round the table and talked and ate until nearly midnite!!" Tean xx

Feedback from Chris Porter on the 31st April 2013
who attended our Slow Bread Class:

"The session was well structured and Roger proved to be an informative and generous teacher, sharing his knowledge and experience as well as guiding and helping us to make great bread. I have taught a lot in the past and really appreciate being well taught. Having only 4 in the class allowed us all to learn fast and well plus having such great bread to take home was great. Will definitely do another one" - Many thanks Chris Porter

"We had a brilliant day with Roger and Sally at the Red Dog Bakery on our Bread Baking course and can really recommend it. It was a fun day whilst learning the skills needed to make and bake a variety of bread.
We even managed to bring home a good supply of our days handywork and will enjoy eating our way through it!
They were excellent hosts and kept us supplied with tea and coffee throughout the day, as well as a lovely lunch."
